UNICORN
by K. B. Johnson © Summer, 2012

My unicorn, you will always be.
Longed for by heart,
sought out by mind.

I could say I love you, as hypnotized by you as I am,
but that's not what this is.
I could say I lust for you, as solid for you as I am,
but respect must given above anything.

Time and distance are reality's veil of the fantasy that makes you elusive.

Still there is the ghost of your whisper, the pictures of your sensuality
across electron lines.
Sounds that inspire and encourage—even when digitized and transcribed.

Damn, it's hard to say what you want when you make clear what you want.

All I do know is that I am right here,
waiting for the sign I want to see.
Be it forever or not, my dear unicorn,
just give me the honor.
